MASTER BEDROOM REVAMP WITH RAYMOUR & FLANIGAN

As most of you know, Antonio became a homeowner last year (May 2018) and if you’ve moved into a new space you know how extremely hard, pricey and quite draining it can be to furnish your home, pick out decor pieces, and make the home a place you love. It can take months, sometimes years, until you feel “finally, it’s done!”

After having tons of other plans in the last year, we finally decided to dedicate time and money to getting the house together and making sure it represented, well… US! We are both extreme homebodies and let’s just say, we spend even MORE time at home now that we’ve finalized the master bedroom. So let’s chat about the process!

I teamed up with Raymour & Flanigan to furnish this space and pretty much make it a HOME. The master space is pretty big and has a “loft” vibe so we had always known we wanted to create a second living room space for us to chill and watch tv without always laying on the bed. The first step in order was deciding on a couch. Our goal was to find a neutral couch that wasn’t over-bearing for the space but also not too small. As soon as I sat on this couch, I KNEW it was the one. From the material, to the dimensions, to the color .. this couch was ours. It’s the Leighton 2-pc sectional sofa with a right facing chaise. It’s the best couch i’ve ever owned and the most comfortable couch i’ve ever laid on. It’s going to be pretty hard to top this one!

The pillows, rugs and decor simply fell right into place with the couch. We were determined to keep the decor neutral with subtle pops of rust/yellow and black but keep it light and airy. It needed to be a nice balance between masculine and feminine. After all, we both have to love it!

Antonio had already owned a dresser from his previous apartment so we chose another dresser and nightstand that is pretty identical in style and color to the one he already owns. We chose the PELL dresser and nightstand which has really deep drawers that allows more storage space for clothes. I love the chic, matte silver handles that definitely adds to the modern feel we went with in this space. It’s also currently on sale for an extremely affordable price!

These Raymour & Flanigan gray and white vase/planters are insanely gorgeous in person. I decided not to add plants but to use them as decor on the dresser. If ever I get bored and want to switch things around, I think i’ll add some pampas grass or even a real plant one day.

And for the love of BEFORE and AFTER’s, here’s a look at the room before we began the much needed face lift! I hope this post gives you inspiration to spruce up your space. I truly believe happiness comes from your home. How you feel about where you lay your head can make or break your day. Invest in the place you spend the most time in!
