Walk-in Closet Dreams with California Closets

When I renovated my bedroom, my biggest focus was creating a space that pushed me to be more creative. My main priority was organization and storage. I struggled with having so much clothes and not even knowing what I owned because my entire life was a mess and hidden by boxes on top of boxes. Everything became very frustrating.

I was able to successfully expand my closet a few feet and could have somewhat of a semi walk-in closet which was way more than what I had before.

DESIGN PROCESS

I partnered with California Closets to design a closet that met my needs. The process began with a free consultation where a consultant came to my home to see my space and talk about what I wanted. Jennifer was so amazing! Within 30 minutes she measured every inch of my closet and sat and talked to me about what I wanted and needed out of my space. Some of the components that were a necessity for me were: shoes shelves that could hold more than two pairs, a drawer for sunglasses, enough space above the closet to store away summer shoes to make the transitions between seasons easier, and enough drawer space to eliminate my dressers in my room.

I had full control in the design process from the materials, to the color, to the handles on the drawers - it was completely on me to design the closet I want and would still love for years to come. Jennifer gave me some of her ideas for my closet that I didn’t know were possible and before I knew it, I was looking at a 3D design of my closet from every angle. I LOVED IT!

INSTALLATION

Up until it was time to have my closet built, I was living out of stacked shoe boxes and clear container bins which was tough since I had already been living this way for months due to the renovations. I was so excited and desperate to finally be able to store away my things and feel organized.

Two guys from Cali Closets arrived at about 9AM and my closet was completed by 11:30AM. I was blown away at how quiet, fast, and efficient the builders were. They even vacuumed my floor after completing the job!

The installation process was seamless and I couldn’t have been more in love with my closet even if it was naked! I would stare at it in awe every single day.

THE FINISHED PRODUCT

Filling up my closet with all my things forced me to purge old and unworn pieces. The full purpose of my bedroom renovation was to be in a space that inspired me and represented this current chapter so decluttering and only keeping the essentials was the goal.

I successfully stored everything I needed to in my closet which means my closet design with the help of Cali Closets really optimized my space. Every corner of the closet has a purpose yet doesn’t make me feel closed in or claustrophobic.

Here are some photos of my closet decorated and designed just the way I love it.

I think most girls dream of one day having a huge walk-in closet just like Big gave Carrie in Sex and the City. I know I do. So making this happen for myself was major. It represented my evolving style, changes in my life, a new era in inspiration, my professional and financial growth and the start for more to come. My closet designed by California Closets makes my day-to-day easier and outfit planning much faster. This 10ft space is MY sanctuary. I sometimes just sit on the floor and look up like this is really ALL mine.
